The Environmental Air Force owner and President, John Hansel is an Engineering graduate from the College of Aeronautics, New York, and Fairleigh Dickinson University, New Jersey, and is a Legal Assistant/Paralegal graduate from Blackstone School of Law, Dallas, Texas. He was very sucessfull in his career but years later a family tragedy occurred. In 1995 he left the North East and moved to Florida. He then worked for Air Conditioning Companies and conducted semi-annual system check ups, Installations, duct work and repair, and cleaning of air handlers and duct work.

John found that on more occasions than he imagined, the inside of the systems were infested with ugly deposits of mold and mildew or duct leaks in the attic were bringing fiberglass insulation into the air in the home. And in many cases the occupants of the infested homes complained of health problems. The companies he worked for were more interested in making a "quick buck" cleaning ducts and taught John their cleaning procedures which were designed to do a quick get in and out job. The "quick cleaning" proceedures would not eliminate all the mold and mildew and it would re-infest the house in a matter of weeks and the health problems would return.

John studied on mold/mildew inspection, testing, and remediation. He has been Certified as a Mold Inspector, Property Mold Specialist, Mold Investigator, and Mold Remediator from the Certified Mold Inspectors and Contractors Institute, Hurricane, Utah. John also studied all of the various methods for duct cleaning and HVAC component cleaning. He studied the use of various fungicides, biocides, and ozone treatment methods and devised a procedure which does a complete job.

In 2003 John became an ASHI Certified Home Inspector and Pest Control Inspector. In the course of his inspections he found that most home AC systems were neglected and infested with dirt, mold, animal hair, and many other substances.

As a result John started the Environmental Air Force in 2003. The Environmental Air Force charter is to do a complete inspection, testing, and cleaning and insure that the homeowner gets what he pays for without any hidden damage to the system or ducts. The Environmental Air Force has since been sucessfull in this charter and now has many pleased customers who can be used as references.
